Stratton’s favorite subject matter revolves around the fine art of dining. Her paintings capture scenes often reflecting ambience best described as old world elegance -- waiters in long white aprons and stylish patrons sharing meals in classic cafes. In addition to the cafe scenes her work includes cityscapes. No matter the subject, though, her work is marked by painterly brushwork and palette of darks, minimal intensity, and muted tones. She has a preference for Edouard Manet’s palette -- less color, more value, and tone. Stratton's approach to color and light is at the forefront of her style.
Stratton’s has won multiple awards and her work is shown nationwide. She graduated with Honors & Distinction from the University of San Francisco (BFA) and the Academy of Art University San Francisco (MFA).
