Cedora Scheiblich (1920 – 2011) Scheiblich was widely known as a pastel painter although she equally loved to paint in oil, watercolor, and gouache. Her work was inspired by her travels to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Sierras, Yosemite, and Central America. A long-time resident of Sonoma Valley, she had explored the most intimate and hidden treasures of the valleys of the wine country capturing the images on paper or on canvas. She was an art instructor and a founding member of the Valley of the Moon Art Association (1958) and was a long-standing member of both the West Coast Pastel Society and the Society of Western Artists.
